What got me Generative?

My introduction to Generative Art was from a man called Joshua Davis, and more specifically his work done for the launch of the new BMW Z4 – Z4byJD. This was probably one of the most inspirational works I’ve encountered. Being a player in the digital field I always have been very passionate about advances in the field, and combined with what I see as fine art this is a winner. Coming from a marketing & strategy background, I believe that the work created a breakthrough into a brand new sub-genre of art, combining experiential marketing with the art&design world.

Thanks Joshua!

The Generative Art Initiative aims to showcase the best examples of the artform to the world. Generative art is art or design generated, composed, or constructed through computer software algorithms, or similar mathematical or mechanical autonomous processes. The most common forms of generative art are graphics that visually represent complex processes, music, or language-based compositions like poetry. Other applications include architectural design, models for understanding sciences such as evolution, and artificial intelligence systems.
